The foundation of the company takes place in 1925, it is the year that begins a great story. The great-great-grandfather Leone Righetti imagines a large land full of vineyards located in the prolific and fascinating Valpolicella; ideal land for his farm where to produce, in addition to wine, milk, meat, fruit and vegetables. Monteci is the ancient nickname dating back more than a century ago with which the Righetti family was known in the Valpolicella area and is now used as a sign of deep bond with their roots. For five generations we have been engaged in the production of the highest quality wines by integrating the traditional methods of drying grapes and processing the musts with the most advanced winemaking techniques and tools. From the experience of winemakers gained and handed down from generation to generation and the professionalism that distinguishes our work, the range of Monteci wines is born. The right combination of tradition and technology, genuineness and professionalism, typicality and innovation gives life to a line of products that are inextricably linked to the Valpolicella territory: "land of many fruits", generous and fertile, and a "splendid county", with landscapes enchanting and fascinating. For generations our family has owned and managed a very important agricultural heritage that includes about 200 total hectares of vineyards in the suitable areas of Veneto, of which 70 hectares of vineyards in the historic area of Valpolicella Classica for the production of renowned red wines such as Amarone and Ripasso, and 45 hectares of vineyards in Lugana for the cultivation of grapes suitable for the production of the homonymous white wine, which has recently been highly appreciated on international markets. The vineyards are located at different altitudes and offer harvests with different organoleptic characteristics thanks to the unique microclimates of the individual areas in which the grapes ripen. All this allows the winery a production variety that can satisfy both lovers of more traditional long-aged wines such as Amarone and Ripasso, and consumers more oriented towards young and fresh wines, which however continue to offer the aromas and flavors of the winemaking tradition of province of Verona. All this, combined with passion and attention to detail, continuous investments and collaborations with international experts, allows us to guarantee the production of excellent wines.
